The three chair arches that formed the spine of Process(ion) amazingly held in tension and therefore stayed up for a full three weeks. Two other rows of the two different types of chairs sat under the war memorial - x number of one type for the First World War dead and y number of the other type for the Second World war dead. Other interventions included pews on end in front of the altar and the oak font lid placed on the billiard table. The table was already in what was the sanctuary before Michael got there but it was interesting to watch people confusedly trying to work out if he had brought it in. In fact he hadn't brought anything in. All he had done was rearrange the furniture. Process(ion) established rearrangement and wrongfooting as two themes that have endured.
