The big powerful theme of Death, for our second Burroughs Machine show, was the result of one of our art/food evenings where we were inspired by listening to Philip Larkin's poem, Aubade, "I work all day, and get half-drunk at night ... Unresting death, a whole day nearer now". Given Larkin's own predilection for visiting churches it seemed an appropriate theme for the x-church space.
"Slip slap, long ball ethics, half wheeling, Crystal City antiques, selected advice from past greats (via a suitable medium), forensic flotsam, words - a dying art, inert still lives ... Seek and ye shall find - it could be the death of us all!"
